Equipment Hire Notes
Pricing : All equipment in the hire list is priced per day of hire, this means if an item is picked up on a Monday, it is priced to be returned on Tuesday at the same time or earlier. For a weekends hire the hirer may collect the items on Friday at any time (or Saturday if they prefer), and drop them off before midday on Monday. This is charged at 2 days.  For a weeks hire the hirer may collect the items at an arranged time, the items must be returned before midday on the same day of the following week. For example, if the items are picked up on Tuesday, they must be returned by Midday on Tuesday of the following week.  This is charged at 3 days hire.  For longer hires please contact us as more discount are available.

Functionality, loss and damage: Items are tested before they leave the warehouse. By accepting the items for hire you are confirming full functionality of the items. Each item is then tested again when it returns to the warehouse and is expected to be fully functional. You as the hirer is fully responsible without exceptions for any items on hire from them leaving the warehouse on the first day of hire to returning on the last. You are responsible without exception for the functionality and condition of each item on hire.  As the hirer you will be required to pay for all costs incurred for repair or replacement of items on hire should they be faulty or damaged on return. You shall also be responsible for hire of other equipment to fulfill requirements of Cnics Audio.

Power: Enough power is needed to run items on hire. For information on what power items from hire stock require consult the data sheets and manuals or contact us for more information. Please be aware that you as the hirer are responsible for ensuring enough power is available on site. You are also responsible for ensuring that the power that is supplied is clean and stable and of the correct voltage. Equipment returned faulty through venue or site power issues is the responsibility of the hirer.

Portable Appliance Testing :  All items in hire stock carry valid PAT. They are checked visually before each hire. However, this does not eliminate the need for a visual check by the hirer before each use of the equipment. It is the hirers responsibility to ensure equipment is safe before each use. Please note that even if a piece of equipment does not carry a PAT sticker it WILL be on our database. The hirer is welcome to a PDF or printed copy of the database if necessary but please give 48 hours notice.

PLI : For Dry hire purposes, it is the responsibility of the Hirer to have any necessary Public Liability Cover for the work they undertake. Cnics Audio hold no responsibility for any public liability claims made against the hirer. When hiring larger equipment, rigging equipment and some of the more dangerous equipment in hire stock, Cnics Audio reserver the right to request the hirers PLI information and reserve the right to refuse hire if we believe that insufficient PLI is held. This is for the safety of the hirer and the public.

Flightcasing : Cnics Audio Flightcase most equipment where necessary to ensure protection to the equipment and ease of transportation. Contrary to popular belief, flightcasing a particular piece of equipment doesn't mean it is safe to be thrown down a flight of stairs. Please be aware that damage to equipment that is flightcased is still the full responsibility of the hirer. Additionally, Flightcase damage will also incur charges.

Minor Damage : At Cnics Audio, we appreciate that accidents can happen and there are times when  a cabinet rolling along may get a knock and a scrape and require a touch up with paint.  Our cabinets are painted regularly  and marks to paintwork are not likely to incur charges. However, if a cabinet goes out with a new coat of paint and returns looking 40 years old then we may be obliged to charge for a coat of paint.  The same principle applies to flightcases and dints and scratches.

Settings and Configurations : If you hire amplifiers, and processors from Cnics Audio with speaker cabinets then we'll generally set everything up for you to make the system plug and play. This means you don't have to touch the settings on amplifiers and crossovers to make things work.  Please note that amplifiers with built in DSP and DSP units have limited storage available so if you wish to store anything please remember to put anything you take off back at the end of your hire where necessary. The same applies with Digital Desks and FX Processors.

Who are you? : Cnics audio will require deatils of who you are before your first hire. When you hire from us for the first time we need you to tell us who you are, prove that (passport, drivers license etc) tell us where you live, and also prove this (again the passport etc should tell us this). We'll initially require payment upfront in full in cleared funds (cash or bank transfer) with a possible refundable deposit of 10% of the hire goods value for non business hirers.  This is only required on the first hire providing all goes well.

Thanks for taking the time to read these notes.
