Personnel Hire Notes
On hiring personnel from Cnics Audio you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.  
 
Working hours : At Cnics audio we are more than aware of the long hours involved within the industry and the problems it can cause. Under no circumstances will our personnel be made to work (by ourselves or the hirer) more than a reasonable number of hours in a day with sufficent breaks. This is normally a maximum of 12 hours though can sometimes be reduced for multiple consecutive days. When paying personnel by the hour, hours worked after the arranged finished time will be charged at 1.5 times the rate. Hours outiside the arranged time falling between 2am and 7am will be charged at 2 x the hourly rate. 
 
Working Conditions :  Cnics Audio will refuse to work / stop working in conditions that are classed as unsafe working environments. There are no exceptions. Arranged payment will be due in full and will be recovered by any necessary means if work is stopped due to unsafe conditions.  Unsafe conditions include Heat and Cold, Extreme weather conditions,  sites and venue that are deemed unsafe due to electrical safety, structural safety, fire safety. 
 
Volume : Our engineers will mix to reasonable and safe levels and will usually carry an accurate SPL meter with them. Noise at Work regulations wiill be adhered to at all times by our personnel. 
 
Attitude :  Cnics Audio personnel will not tolerate verbal, mental or physical abuse, without exception. This includes abuse from the hirer, their staff, and bands and artistes working on the event.
 
Weight : Cnics Audio personnel have had their fair share of back problems and understand the need to limit the amount of weight lifted by one person. Running parallel with the main courier companies in the UK, no Cnics Audio Personnel will lift items where a weight of more than 30kg per person is required. Please note, that most items in OUR hire stock weighing more tha 30kg are on wheels. Please note that when hiring crew, if they are required to lift items onto a stage, this must (a) be disclosed and discussed in advance and (b) the correct number of crew must be used. This can be crew from us or crew from elsewhere.
 
Stairs : Following on from Weight. Cnics Audio do not deal with stairs for larger systems.  Extra crew must be provided or hired in addition to the number needed for setup and operation of the system where stairs are involved. Please note the maximum weight per person guidelines are reduced to 25kg when carrying up stairs. As an example, this makes a 2x18 sub a minimum 4man lift and an Amp rack of 180kg requires a football team to get upstiars.  Lifts are a wonderful invention. It's easier for everyone and cheaper for the hirer when they are available. 
 
Expenses : All necessary expenses incurred will be charged additionally to the hourly rate or daily rate for personnel. These charges include but are not limited to, Food, Drink (non alcoholic), Accommodation, Parking charges (including penalty notices where the personnel has no other options due to organisational breakdown on the part of the hirer or their company), Congestion and Low emission Charges, Toll road / Toll Bridge Charges, Ferry Charges.  Also to be added are Transportation expenses.  A flat per mile rate dependant on vehicle type. Car / Van Hire charges where applicable. Bus, Train, Ferry, and Plane Tickets and taxi fares where applicable.  All expenses will be added onto the invoice and any VAT details recorded. 
 
Accommodation :  Please note that any female crew will expect to have a single room or a twin room with a member of the same sex. There are no exceptions to this, additional costs for doing so are the responsibility of the hirer.   Accommodation where provided does not need to be 5 star, but somewhere with the correct number of beds, running water from taps and not the roof, and a lockable door is required for our personnel. Parking facilities if charged extra must be covered by the hirer. When personnel are travelling in a commercial vehicle please check parking details with the accommodation to ensure a vehicle of this size can park there. Vehicle dimensions and registration details given on request. 
 
Drivers hours :  Our drivers driving vehicles over 3.5tonnes are restricted by the drivers hours regulations. There are no exceptions, please work this into your quote and hire arrangements. Please note that not all the vehicles over 3.5tonnes we hire have sleeping facilities so frequently accommodation is required for drivers too.   Whilst not enforceable, all our drivers following the Drivers hours regulations for safety reasons. Our drivers drive at the speed limit for the vehicle they are driving where safe to do so. Please note that vehicles we hire that are 7.5tonnes and above are now limited to 53mph. 
 
Are we more than human? : Sadly not, all our personnel are highly experienced in their field in the industry and well used to the issues and problems it can cause. However, we're only human and there are limits. We'll do our best to do whatever you need as a hirer.
